Yet another move of the governing party as we approach the Delhi elections next year. Specifically targeting the poor and the middle class, the government has decided to reduce the electricity rates further.
With no electricity charges up to 200 units of consumption and 50% subsidy for households with consumption between 201-400 units, Delhi has proven to be the cheapest in terms of electricity costs.
Now the question arises why was this decision taken now?
Was it just for the purpose of serving the citizens of Delhi or was it to bring the AAP party on the limelight again.
After their failed efforts at making travel for women free, did they need this policy to strengthen their ground for the upcoming elections??
Was this policy brought up just for the vote bank???
